Immunisation Update for HCA’s and AP’s
This half update is suitable for Health Care Assistants and Assistant Practitioners who have completed a 2 day immunisation course
This course meets the national standards for immunisation training
Course content will include:
• The seasonal flu and pneumococcal programme for 2019/20
• Shingles programme for 2019/20
• Fluenz tetra programme for 2019/20
• Legal aspects of vaccination, including delegation and consent
• Update on vaccination administration
• Review current practice and identification of areas for improvement
• Adverse events and management of anaphylaxis
Aim of the course: To administer influenza, pneumococcal, fluenz tetra and shingles vaccines safely and effectively in the general practice setting
To provide patients with accurate information on vaccine preventable diseases and vaccination
The delegate at the end of the session s will be able to:
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of:
• The importance of the cold chain
• Correct use of Patient Specific Directions
• Legal aspects of vaccination
• Changes to seasonal flu and pneumococcal programme
• Introduction of shingles and fluenz tetra vaccines for HCA’s
• Recognise and the management of anaphylaxis
On completion of the course, the delegate will be required to complete an electronic evaluation form and a certificate will be sent to the delegate.

What are the arrangements for car parking?
TLH Leisure Resort has 7 car parks and 294 car parking spaces which are free to hotel guests on a “first come, first served” basis and cannot be guaranteed or pre booked.
All guests are required to display a free parking permit which is available from your hotel reception. You have 2 hours from arrival to display a permit in your car. Failure to display a permit may result in our TLH parking attendant issuing a penalty ticket. Your luggage can be unloaded at the hotel front entrance on arrival prior to parking your car.
Any driver with a Blue Badge can request a reserved space in advance by contacting any of our Hotel Reception telephone numbers. Specific disabled parking is limited and once disabled bays are all taken, Blue Badge parking may not be in a designated bay and the width of the bay will therefore be limited.
In the event our car parks being full, there is plenty of free off street parking in the surrounding area including Falkland Road, Lime Avenue and Bath Lane. In addition there are 3 pay and display car parks within a short walk. Our receptionists are happy to provide you with more detailed information on arrival.
