Narrative Coaching
Over the past two decades there has been a growing interest
in narrative approaches to social concerns. Columbia University in New York has
a Masters Degree in Narrative Medicine and The BMJ has also published a number
of articles on Narrative Medicine. Narrative Psychology and Narrative Therapy
are now recognised fields of their own.
Narrative Coaching harnesses the most contemporary learnings
and understandings from these fields to create a dynamic and effective set of
coaching practices suitable for all clinicians working in NHS settings.
The programme will explore some of
the most important current ideas about narrative and stories, and will contain
a blended mix of theory and practice. There will be plenty of practical
coaching ideas that you can immediately begin to apply in your work.
The course framework
The training consists of
4 live, online sessions of 1.5 hours, fortnightly over a period of two
months. Each session will be fully interactive and experiential.
